Go on a scavenger hunt, walk with bugs, hug a tree, make dough imprints, look closely at the patterns in a leaf, try some wild weaving, and so much more! The Naturebag was designed by two Canadian moms, with the goals of: connecting children with their natural environment; offering a hands-on, curiosity led alternative to TV and video games; supporting the psychological and emotional well-being of children through their interaction with nature; and creating for our planet, stewards of the future.
Toys don't get much more environmentally friendly than this: All the paper products in this kit are made from 100% post-consumer waste and printed with vegetable-based inks. The crayons are made from natural pigments and soybean oil. The organic cotton for the bag and blindfold is purchased through a Fair Trade partnership with farmers in southern India. The pencil in the Naturebag used to be blue jeans! Hemp twine was chosen since hemp grows well without pesticides and herbicides, and is durable and biodegradable. Rubberwood is well-suited for toy-making, and is considered a sustainable product: rubber trees are cultivated for their natural latex sap, but when the sap diminishes after about 30 years, the wood is then harvested rather than being wasted.
Suitable for ages 3-12 years (parental accompaniment is recommended for younger children).
